A touch of class at the edge of the rain forest!

The Lookout Inn is a beautiful intimate eco-lodge located in one of the most remote areas of Costa Rica on the Osa Peninsula at the extreme end of the road in Carate. The Lodge offers incredible views, amazing food, beautiful rooms with private hot showers but its remote location does not allow for modern luxuries including television, radio and internet. Instead, you will be surrounded by a colourful garden mixed with orchids, flowers, banana and fruit trees, jungle growth, and giant Joba trees full of iguanas and scarlet macaws. Every day you will be visited by groups of monkeys and other wild animals.

Meals are usually served buffet style, and dining is on the main deck, or high above on the observation deck. The Lodge has its own chef, David. He makes wonderful rice and veggie dishes, smoked cheese from the smoke house for vegetarian guests and of course, fresh fish, pork, grilled chicken on the only gas grill in the area! Plus we will roast a whole pig in our very own beach luau under the stars of the tropics.

Lodge Rooms.  Enter through custom-made doors carved from indigenous wood by one of the local artisans. These rooms are in the main lodge and have private bathrooms and hot running showers.

Tiki Huts.  Wake up in these A-framed huts to a magnificent morning view of the Pacific Ocean. If you want to be ‘one’ with nature, you can’t get much closer than this. Look up into the joba trees for a chance to see a giant iguana.

Garden Cabinas.  Escape to this private cabin and relax in a hammock during a Costa Rican sunset. These cabins are perched above the tropical garden overlooking the Pacific Ocean and are your very own to kickback and enjoy.

Monkey house.  For our more adventurous guests who wish to experience the jungle to the fullest we offer the secluded Monkey House. Idyllically located away from all the other rooms, the Monkey House is perched on the Inn's mountainside.  Wake up to your friendly neighbourhood monkeys swinging through the trees to our very own banana platform.

The Spa.  The newest addition is full of atmosphere. Set above the pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this beautiful location has a suspended double bed, hammocks, a comfy reading couch, and a private hot-water jungle shower. Enjoy the orchids that surround you while you take in the scent of the blooming tropical gardens.
